Maktab Sains students visit Laksamana College

DECIDING which higher education institution to enrol in can be very daunting.

In an effort to reduce the anxiety, Laksamana College of Business in collaboration with Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College (Maktab Sains) recently organised an education presentation for Maktab Sains students whom have completed their 'O' Levels.

The team of 10 students whom were accompanied by two of their teachers, Rodziah Haji Abd Wahab and Md Wayne Stagg Abdullah, attended the presentation which was held at the Third Floor of the college building.

Upon arrival, the students and teachers were received by LCB Administration Manager Bogusia Mischke and Head of IT Prakash Mohan.

The education presentation commenced with Mischke welcoming the Maktab Duli students and teachers to the college before proceeding with the introduction to the LCB Business Courses.

Students were briefed on the various business courses offered in LCB and the entry requirement for each course. They were explained on the advantages of LCB's Academic and Professional Degree Pathway.

Maktab Duli students were also informed about other Business courses such as the LCCI International Qualification.

The briefing included a video and slideshow presentations.

Mischke concluded her presentation by informing the students of the next intake for the college's Business and Computing Courses on February 14, 2011.

The second part of the education presentation was conducted by LCB's Head of IT Prakash who introduced the LCB's Business and Technician Education Council (BTEC) and Computing courses to the students. During the briefing, Prakash presented students with various slideshows consisting introduction to LCB's new course, BTEC.

Students were shown the progression structure from BTEC Higher National Certificate (HNC) to Higher National Diploma (HND) as well as the entry requirement for BTEC.

In addition, students were also briefed on LCB's other Computing courses for instance the IC3 which is scheduled for intake in January 2011, Comptia A+ Technician Certification and Comptia N+ Certification.

After the presentation, both students and teachers were taken on a tour of the college premises to observe the favailable acilities. The Brunei Times
